WHAT IS FLACCIDITY?Flaccidity is a dysfunction due to the natural or accelerated aging of the coetaneous, structurally connected to a lower production of collagen. The morphologic changes that appear are consequences of significant changes in the tissue. Initially it appears with a reduction in cellular metabolism; it is a consequence of the biosynthesis of collagen and a descending elastine, the same as in the muco polysaccharides of the fundamental substance. The number of fibroblasts decline and the dermis, in losing its normal trophism, becomes worse and then loses the capacity to regenerate naturally. The net of collagen and elastine sustains the link between the epidermis and the dermal papillas and underlying tissue. The failure of this complex organic structure (elastine, collagen and fundamental substance) is that it disconnects the epidermis and the dermis.
