WHAT KIND OF EDEMAS CAN BE FOUND?

We can classify them as:

1- General Oedemas:

Originating in the heart. For example, heart failure.
Renal causes. For example, acute or chronic renal failure or certain renal tumours.
Hepatic causes: For example, chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis.
Certain endocrinal disorders: Cushing Syndrome (a process of alteration in the corticoids, certain thyroid processes.
Certain lung issues (cor-pulmonale)
Lymphatic causes: generalized or localized.
Some medications: glucorticoids, oestrogen

2- Local Oedemas:

From a superficial or deep venous thrombosis in any area.
Insufficient veins because of varicose vein or varicosities.
Inflammatory processes for any cause.
Osteoarticular problems.
Oedemas of lymphatic origins: for example an oedema that appears on the arm after a mastectomy (removal of the breast).
